Einar Holmefjord

Einar Holmefjord is educated as a skipper. He has over 30 years of experience from the fish farming industry. Early in his career, during work at a fish farm, he gained insight into the industry’s challenges with handling feed control, dead fish and sediment.

Einars commitment to everything that moves below the sea surface resulted in the establishment of the company Lift Up AS in 1989. Einar was involved in Lift Up until it was sold in 2017.

Einar has now come up with a future-oriented solution for collecting and reusing fish feed, as well as collecting and filtering sediment.

Ivar Holmefjord

Ivar Holmefjord is a fisheries biologist from the University of Bergen. He has extensive experience as a researcher at Akvaforsk, Sunndalsøra (now part of Nofima) with salmon, halibut and other species. The doctorate is on fry production of halibut. He has worked on many topics related to salmon, including full-scale production trials and growth and emission models.

After many years as a cod breeder and then as a teacher in aquaculture, Ivar now works with research and development again in the companies Sustainable Salmon AS and Svana AS. Central areas of work are sustainable farming, closed marine facilities, salmon lice and other new technological solutions.
