The concept consists of four parts:
1. Leading net
The pellet separator separates surplus feed from the water stream. The feed is rinsed and led directly back to the desired depth in the cage.
2. Pellet separator
The pellet separator separates surplus feed from the water stream. The feed is rinsed and led directly back to the desired depth in the cage.
3. Filter
Residual particles in the water flow are passed on to filtration, before the transport water is returned to the sea. The filter has been developed specifically for the purpose and will provide a dry matter content that is manageable in large sacks. The dead fish are separated from the water flow in the same way as today.
4. Salmon lice collection system
The pellet separator is designed for connection to a future collection system for salmon lice.
The leading net is patent protected. Other parts are patent pending.
Calculation of savings
Change the numbers to see your savings. The figure for the economic feed factor is 1.32 and is taken from the Directorate of Fisheries’ latest public profitability survey. Figures for feed price are NOK. 15. There is an expected price increase for many raw materials in the future, so this calculator will show minimum savings.
